APD means that hearing is normal, and the difficulty lies in how the brain analyses sounds. That is why hearing loss must be ruled out first - hence the requirement for a current hearing test from an audiometric booth, done no earlier than one month before the visit. What to know before your visit
The assessment ends with a written report with recommendations. It does not replace a statement of special educational needs, which is issued only by a public psychological and pedagogical counselling centre.
