What is KORP?
KORP (the Psychomotor Development Assessment Scale) is a standardised, reliable tool for the comprehensive assessment of a child's development, created and normed for the Polish population. It provides an objective check of whether development is progressing harmoniously and in line with age expectations.
The assessment covers children from 1 month to the end of their 9th year, divided into 13 age groups. The result gives a clear profile of strengths and areas needing support, and we always discuss it with the parent and translate it into concrete recommendations.
Seven areas of a child's development
KORP analyses development in areas that are key to all-round functioning. The test allows assessment across 13 age groups in the following areas:
- Motor development
- Fine motor skills and lateralisation
- Visual perception and hand-eye coordination
- Communication and speech
- Emotions and social relationships
- Behavioural functions
- Preschool and school knowledge and skills (ages 3;0-9;11)

What does KORP assess?
The Psychomotor Development Assessment Cards check whether a child’s development is progressing harmoniously - covering movement, speech, cognitive functions, emotions and self-care.
What age range is it for?
KORP is used from the first months of life up to school age, with tasks matched to the child’s age.
When is it worth doing?
When there is concern about the pace of development, before starting nursery or school, or to identify areas needing support early.

A written developmental profile setting out strengths and areas to work on, with recommendations. Issued within 21 working days.
