What is KORP?
KORP (the Psychomotor Development Assessment Scale) is a standardised, reliable tool for the comprehensive assessment of a child's development, created and normed for the Polish population. It provides an objective check of whether development is progressing harmoniously and in line with age expectations.
The assessment covers children from 1 month to the end of their 9th year, divided into 13 age groups. The result gives a clear profile of strengths and areas needing support, and we always discuss it with the parent and translate it into concrete recommendations.
Seven areas of a child's development
KORP analyses development in areas that are key to all-round functioning. The test allows assessment across 13 age groups in the following areas:
- Motor development
- Fine motor skills and lateralisation
- Visual perception and hand-eye coordination
- Communication and speech
- Emotions and social relationships
- Behavioural functions
- Preschool and school knowledge and skills (ages 3;0–9;11)
