Will a counselling centre accept a private assessment report?
The most common concern of parents considering a private assessment. We explain the role of a private report and what to bring to the counselling centre.
Our reports are recognised by psychological and pedagogical counselling centres and medical specialists. You should know, however, that a statement of special educational needs is issued solely by a state counselling centre - a private assessment is strong input for that process, not a substitute for it.

Why this works at all
The value of a document is determined by the qualifications of the specialists and the instruments used, not by whether the assessment was publicly funded. That is why we work exclusively with standardised, certified instruments - ADOS-2, ADI-R, ACIA, Conners 3, KORP - and set out in the report what our conclusions rest on.

Does a school have to take a private report into account?
A private report is a document a school will consider, but formal adjustments follow from a state counselling centre opinion or statement. In practice our report is most often the basis for starting that route.
Who issues a statement of special educational needs?
Solely a state psychological and pedagogical counselling centre. No private centre has such powers - ours included.
Will the counselling centre repeat assessments we have already had?
That depends on the centre and the documentation. A thorough, descriptive report from a certified instrument usually reduces how much is repeated.
Will a psychiatrist accept our report?
Our reports are recognised by medical specialists and form part of the documentation a doctor bases a diagnosis on. We do not make the diagnosis ourselves - that is the doctor's remit.
How long does the report take?
We issue the written report within 21 working days of completing the assessment.
