Autism assessment: public healthcare or private?

Both routes lead to a thorough assessment and both documents carry the same professional weight. The difference lies mainly in waiting time, cost and flexibility of appointments.

Waiting timeCostWeight of the document
In short: the document carries equal weight, the route differs

A report from a private assessment is not "worse" - what counts is the qualifications of the specialists and the instruments used, not the source of funding. On the NFZ you pay nothing but usually wait considerably longer. Privately you pay, and in return you get a faster and more flexible appointment.

When the private route is worth considering

Above all when time matters - and in developmental assessment it usually does. Early recognition means therapy can start sooner and support can be adapted at nursery or school. If your child is on an NFZ waiting list, a private assessment does not forfeit that place; it is often a supplement that makes conversations with the school easier.

What we do not do

We do not promise a diagnosis "on the spot" or a result to order. The diagnosis itself is made by a medical specialist, drawing among other things on our report. A thorough process needs several appointments and time to work up the findings - with us that is up to 3 appointments and up to 21 working days for the document.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Cannot find your answer? Call us - we will gladly clear up any doubts.

Will a private report be accepted at school and nursery?

Yes. The weight of the document depends on the assessors' qualifications and the instruments used. Our reports are recognised by psychological and pedagogical counselling centres and medical specialists.

How much does a full autism assessment cost?

It depends on the scope. An initial consultation is PLN 150, ADOS-2 PLN 650 and ADI-R PLN 450. After the consultation you know exactly which elements are needed.

Do I need a referral for a private assessment?

No. A phone call or the contact form is enough - we call back within one working day.

Can I be on an NFZ waiting list and have a private assessment at the same time?

Yes. These are two independent routes; a private assessment does not affect your place in the queue.

How long does the document take after the assessment?

We issue the written report within 21 working days of completing the assessment.
