Tomatis or Warnke Method? Which child needs which

Both methods work with hearing, but towards different aims and by different routes. Tomatis trains auditory attention; Warnke trains the basic functions behind reading and writing.

Aim of the trainingFormat and equipmentPrices
In short: a different problem calls for a different method

If the main issue is difficulty with reading and writing, dyslexia and auditory processing, we usually start with Warnke. If it concerns auditory attention, speech development, sound sensitivity and regulation, we more often choose Tomatis. We decide after an assessment, not on the basis of a symptom found online.

OrganisationA 14-day programme, equipment loaned for the duration50-minute sessions at the centre; home practice with the device possible
Price with usConsultation PLN 150, individual programme PLN 1400, extra headphones PLN 300Session PLN 150; Brain Boy hire PLN 400/month
Assessment before startingYes - consultation and evaluation of auditory attentionYes - assessment of basic functions

Can the two methods be combined?

Yes, but not simultaneously and not automatically. We usually work in stages: first the method matching the main difficulty, then - if there is a rationale - the second. Running two intensive training programmes at once makes it hard to tell what actually worked.

What the choice depends on

On the assessment findings, the child's age and what genuinely makes daily life harder. If you suspect an auditory processing disorder, a sensible order is: APD assessment → choice of training → review of results.

Which method is better for dyslexia?

For dyslexia and difficulties with reading and writing we most often choose the Warnke Method - it trains the basic functions these skills rest on.

How much do Tomatis and Warnke training cost?

Does the child have to concentrate during this?

With the Tomatis Method, no - listening is passive and the child can draw or rest. The Warnke Method requires active participation, but the exercises resemble a game.

Yes, in both cases. We select the programme and protocol on the basis of assessment findings, not on symptoms described over the phone.
